EDGE-CENTRIC SPACE RESCALING METHOD FOR DISSIMILAR SPACE REGISTRATION AND THE SYSTEM THEREOF

An edge-centric space rescaling method which is a new space rescaling technique for registering dissimilar physical-virtual spaces by utilizing the effects of adjusting physical space with redirected walking (RDW) and a system therefor are provided. The edge-centric space rescaling method includes dividing physical space into grid units based on basic geometric information of an object, applying relative translation gains (RTGs) to physical space grids divided in redirected walking (RDW), and registering objects of interest in virtual space to a corresponding target in physical space to rescale the virtual space to the physical space, while maintaining a coordinate system between the virtual
